Spider-Man: Brand New Day is well in the works for a 2026 release, with the film supposedly set to explore a new chapter for the beloved Peter Parker. Of course, this has raised much speculation and fan theories about which characters may be making an appearance.
Across all possible candidates, there seems to be one character fans are absolutely itching to see – Cindy Moon. But, just who is this character, and what role could she play in the film? If you’re looking for answers, you can find all relevant information in the guide below.
Who Is Cindy Moon?

Cindy Moon, better known as Silk, is one of the many Spider-People in New York. However, she is also much more than just another spider-hero. It was in 2014 when Cindy first made her appearance in comics, introducing her to people all over the world, with her own solo series soon following.
Her origin has a direct connection with Peter Parker due to her being bitten by the very same spider that bit Peter. However, unlike Peter, she was discovered by a man named Ezekiel Sims, who offered to teach her how to live with her new powers.
It was also revealed that Cindy was part of a prophecy that would mean she’d be hunted down by a totemic predator named Morlun. In order to stay safe, she was kept in a bunker for 13 years, completely alone.
Once Spider-Man frees her, she almost immediately takes on the name Silk and quickly becomes an iconic member of the Spider-Verse, something she continues to be to this day.
What Are Silk’s Powers?

Cindy has most of the same powers as Peter, such as speed, healing, wall-crawling, and her very own Silk Sense. It’s stated early on that while she may not be as strong as Peter, she’s definitely faster.
Her Silk Sense also sets her apart from Peter, as it is exponentially stronger than his, to the point where, at times, it can even be over-reactive.
But what really separates her from the rest of the pack is her ability to create organic webs from her fingertips, something unique to her (Except for a stint of Peter’s in the early 00s). She actually makes her first costume using these webs.
Is Cindy Moon In The MCU?

Possibly, but also maybe not. A character named Cindy did appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as in No Way Home, as a photo. Played by Tiffany Espensen, Cindy was a fellow member of Midtown High’s decathlon team with Peter Parker.
However, while it is likely evidence, viewers never get any confirmation on her last name. Because of this, it remains unconfirmed if this Cindy was the Silk. However, there is potential for Cindy Moon to join the MCU with a new actress. And with the Multiverse Saga coming to an end, it is the perfect time to bring in a character like Silk.
Could Cindy Moon / Silk Appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

While the plot for Brand New Day is under wraps, a lot of theorising has been going on. What we do know for certain is that this will be an almost reboot of sorts for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, taking him to the street instead of the multiverse.
This is the perfect place to introduce a character like Cindy Moon, especially after the universe-altering events of No Way Home. Cindy could be a mysterious new hero with spider powers that Peter needs to investigate, or she could be someone who managed to stay in the main universe even after Peter’s sacrifice. The potential is there and ready to be used.
All signs are pointing towards Spider-Man: Brand New Day being the perfect opportunity for the MCU to add Cindy Moon into their repertoire. With the movie switching to a more grounded approach, Silk makes perfect sense to appear alongside a more mature and hardened Peter Parker.
