When news broke that Quentin Tarantino was dusting off a long-abandoned chapter of Kill Bill, a vengeance-driven sequence titled “Yuki’s Revenge,” fans of the original films wondered one key question: would Chiaki Kuriyama, the original Gogo Yubari, return to embody her sister’s revenge? The short answer is no.

The revived chapter, premiering via a collaboration with Fortnite on November 30, 2025, introduces Yuki Yubari, the sister of Gogo, chasing The Bride to LA on a mission to avenge her slain sister.

Originally, Tarantino wanted Ko Shibasaki, another alum of the his favourite Japanese cult film Battle Royale (2000), to play Yuki. At the time of shooting Kill Bill, Shibasaki had scheduling issues, so the whole section was scrapped.

Maybe because both actors have aged out of the roles, or more scheduling issues, Yuki Yubari was recast. In the final Fortnite short, Yuki was played by newcomer Miyu Ishidate Roberts, who plays Yuki opposite a returning Uma Thurman.

Zoe Bell returns on stunts. Kuriyama remains connected to the project only through her legacy, with her likeness credited in the special thanks section. So while Kuriyama doesn’t act in the short, she does appear, along with both Yuki and Gogo’s skins being available in-game too.
