Dead By Daylight 9.3.0 Patch Notes

Dead By Daylight survivor

The biggest issue for players over the past month or so has been the potential changes for anti-camping, anti-slugging, and anti-tunnelling in Dead By Daylight. During a previous PTB, the suggested changes were so extreme that both Survivor and Killer players were expressing their concerns.

This week, however, after trying less severe changes, it looks like there could be some balance for players. Some may think the update doesn’t do enough, but more changes may happen in the future. For now, here are the main unhook and anti-camping changes brought in for this mid-chapter update:

  • A Resolve Bar, showing the amount of time a Survivor is being camped for, now appears in the HUD for all players to see. This helps Survivors see what is happening to their teammate and act accordingly.
  • The Anti-Facecamp meter will fill faster, depending on how close the Killer is to the hook, and for how long.
    • 0-10 seconds: 1x speed
    • 10-20 seconds: 2x speed
    • >20 seconds: 4x speed
  • The fill rate for the Anti-Facecamp meter is reduced by 50%, and there is a 7-second grace period when the Survivor is first hooked to allow the Killer to move away when in narrow hallways, etc.
  • Survivors now have 10% Haste and 15 seconds of Endurance after an unhook, which is an increase from the previous 10 seconds.
  • AFK Crows have had an adjustment, and they will now appear faster:
    • 80/100/120 seconds for 1/2/3 crows to appear (previously it was 120/140/190 seconds).

Killer Changes

There have also been changes to two Killers, namely The Shape and The Skull Merchant. Michael Myers (The Shape) has had a small tweak to his camera controls, and The Skull Merchant has had a whole list of buffs to help increase her kill rate, which dropped significantly after her last update.

The Skull Merchant’s drones now have a reduced cooldown for deployment, and Survivors will now gain a gradual increase when the drone locks on. The drone sensitivity is reduced to help Skull Merchant use the drones effectively in small spaces, such as indoor maps.

Dead By Daylight Survivor

Perk And Add-On Updates

Some add-ons and perks had to be reworked to help with balance in the game:

  • Original Pain (The Cenobite): Reveals their aura for 8 seconds when a Survivor breaks free from the Possessed Chain.
  • Soma Family Photo (The Singularity): Increased the Hindered status from 3 seconds to 6 seconds, and now does not inflict the Deep Wound status.

Survivor add-ons have been reworked:

  • Anti-Exhaustion Syringe (previously Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe): now removes Exhaustion only.
  • Styptic Agent: Now only increases the efficiency of the med kit when healing self by 15%.

Two Survivor perks are reworked to remove exploits or help with anti-slugging:

  • Conviction: Can only be activated when healing another Survivor, to avoid an infinite loop when used with Plot Twist.
  • Tenacity: Re-added the ability to crawl while recovering and increased the Haste effect to 30/40/50%.

Further changes have been brought in to speed up the login process, adjust pallet density in certain maps, calibrate texture and lighting, and improve navigation.
