Phasmophobia has introduced its first interactive Easter egg with the Nell’s Diner map added in the November 2025 update. While not the most complicated process, the several steps needed to unlock the secret map interaction are discreet enough for most ghost hunters to miss it entirely.
Maybe you’ve only just heard of this secret, or you’re trying it yourself and are confused as to why it’s not working. Regardless of why, we’ve outlined a clear and easy to understand step by step process for doing it yourself.

How To Find The Hidden Code
The Easter egg begins with a sticky note in the manager’s office. By shining a UV light on it, you’ll discover a secret code: three arrows, pointing down, up, and right.
This is a hint to look for these same arrows in the environment and noting down what numbers they point to.
- The first arrow is the down arrow sign on the diner wall, which points at a 4 on the license plate below it.
- The second arrow is scrawled in the sand below the neon sign outside, pointing toward a 1.
- The third arrow is kind of obscure, but its the red line in the black X in the graffiti on the side of the building. This points vaguely at a stylized 5 nearby.
Combined, this reveals the keycode to be “415”.
How To Unlock The Safe
Go back to the manager’s office. Under the desk is a safe. Interact with the safe to prompt a keycode. Enter the code from before, 415, and select submit.
Warning: the interface may act up here. Leave by pressing the ESC key (or the start button on controller) to leave the UI and move about as normal.
Open the safe door and you’ll find a bank card. Have a clear inventory space and pick it up.
How To Get A Quarter
Bring the bank card to the ATM on the left side of the map, in the hallway. Once there, use the “place down” button (like if you were placing a camera or ghost writing book) to insert the card into the ATM slot.
Once you do, a dollar bill will appear on the front of the machine. Take that dollar and turn left to the red Soda machine. Using the same button, place the dollar bill into the cash acceptor slot. This will cause a quarter to fall onto the floor.
How To Play The Arcade Machine
Take the quarter to the employee break room in the back of the building. Activate the arcade cabinet (Lair of the Unliving) and use the “place down” button to insert the coin into the slot on the bottom section of the machine.
The Cursed Mirror can be found on the chair next to the vending machine in the same room.
As soon as that’s done, a skull will fly out of the machine and out the window, completing the Easter egg. Go outside to see the fruits of your labor.
How To Get The Ghost In The Machine ID Card
For the rest of that hunt, a giant green skeleton will loom over the map. It will also make large rumbling sounds regularly. Leaving the map (regardless of successfully identifying the ghost or surviving) will grant you the Ghost in the Machine badge and ID card style.
