If you feel like you’ve messed up your skill choices in Arc Raiders, you’re probably wondering how to reset or respec your skill tree. Maybe you picked the wrong abilities or simply want to try a new playstyle. If you can’t seem to find an option to reset your skills, don’t worry, it’s not your fault. The respec system in Arc Raiders isn’t as simple as in most games, and it’s actually much harsher.
Progressing in Arc Raiders is fun, but here’s the bad news, you can’t just reset a few skills or move points around. The game doesn’t have a normal respec button like other RPGs. You can’t undo one mistake or redistribute points between branches. It’s truly all or nothing.
Technically, there is a way to respec your skill tree, but it’s through the Expeditions system, which completely wipes your character back to level one. Yeah, it’s as rough as it sounds.
How Expeditions Work

Sending your Raider on an Expedition isn’t a simple task either. You unlock this feature once you reach level 20. Each Expedition consists of five stages, and you’ll need to gather specific materials to complete each one. The entire process lasts eight weeks, giving you 60 days to finish all five stages.
Once you complete them all, you can send your Raider away permanently. This will reset your progression completely, you’ll go back to level one and lose all your skills, effectively resetting your skill tree. Sounds harsh? Because it is.

The good news is that even though you’ll lose your hard-earned Raider, you still get to keep some of the progress and rewards you’ve gathered. Take this feature as a silver lining in an otherwise harsh system. Here’s everything you’ll keep after sending your Raider on an Expedition:
- Unlocked Maps
- Unlocked Workshop Stations
- Codex Entries
- Raider Tokens
- Cred
- Raider Decks Progress
- Active Leaderboards
- Trials
- Cosmetics
- Personal Event Progress
- Bonus Skill Points Earned From Expeditions
- Bonus Stash Slots Earned From Expeditions
Is It Worth Doing?
The system gives you some rewards to make the pain easier. You get bonus XP, faster level-ups, and extra Stash slots after completing an Expedition. This makes your second run through the levels quicker than the first time.
If you truly can’t enjoy the build you’ve created, then it might be worth doing. However, if you can find a workaround or adapt to it, then it’s probably not worth the trouble.
If you decide to send your Raider on an Expedition, be prepared to start the grind all over again. Make sure to use Scrappy the Rooster’s help to speed up your progress.
