The Roots update for PEAK added a new biome for the second stage of climbs, alternating with the Tropics. In addition to this, a new series of items has also been introduced alongside this new biome, including consumables such as Fortified Milk.

However, it can often be hard to work out and keep track of the various side effects from consumables. If you’re wondering what the new Fortified Milk item does in PEAK, as well as how it can be obtained, then all of the information you’ll need has been outlined in the guide below.

What Does Fortified Milk Do in PEAK?

In PEAK, the Fortified Milk item is a consumable that offers multiple effects upon consumption. Firstly, it will cure a small amount of Hunger and also remove 50 Heat if you are suffering from this status condition. If you are a Skeleton, it will heal 100 physical injury damage as a bonus. Lastly, but most importantly, Fortified Milk will also provide an immunity shield for 15 seconds per quantity consumed.

  • -5 Hunger
  • 50 Heat
  • +Immunity shield 15s
  • -100 damage (Skeleton only)

The immunity shield that Fortified Milk provides is similar to that of the effect Golden Bing Bong grants its holder. During the time the Fortified Milk shield is active, the player will be able to take no incoming status effects other than additional Weight.

Players can use this to their advantage to bypass environmental hazards, though the shield will not remove any status effects that are already active prior to consumption. There is also the new Calcium Intake Badge available for players to earn, requiring a certain amount of damage to be blocked via the effects of Fortified Milk.

How to Get Fortified Milk in PEAK

In PEAK, Fortified Milk is one of the many items that can be found in luggage spread out across each biome. Specifically, Fortified Milk has a chance to appear inside of both Regular Luggage and Big Luggage, but does not seem to spawn inside any of the other luggage variants.

Fortified Milk Cooking Effects in PEAK

In PEAK, consumables can often be cooked to add bonus stamina and effects, or sometimes even to purify negative effects. By cooking Fortified Milk, players can extend the time the immunity shield effects are active by an additional 10 seconds.
