The Sentinel Firing Core is a rare item weighing 1 kg, stackable up to three per inventory slot. You can sell it for 3000 credits if you want, but honestly, don’t do that. You need these cores to upgrade from Gunsmith 2 to Gunsmith 3, which costs 4 Sentinel Firing Cores plus other materials.
How To Get Sentinel Firing Cores
The most reliable way to get Sentinel Firing Core is to hunt down Sentinels. These are specific Arc enemies that drop the cores when you destroy them. Sentinels are turret-type enemies that can snipe you from a distance, so be careful when approaching them. Just keep in mind it’s not a guaranteed drop every time since it’s classified as rare loot.
Another method is looting destroyed Arc Courier Husks scattered across the map, which sometimes contain Sentinel Firing Cores. This is actually easier than fighting Sentinels because the husks are just sitting there waiting for you.
Best Farming Location: Dam Battlegrounds
The Dam Battlegrounds is by far the most efficient location to farm Sentinel Firing Cores. The first area to check is the Research & Administration Building, where a Sentinel sits beside the main structure.
Head up the staircase to the corner, and you’ll spot it. You can safely shoot it from a distance, no hassle. Sometimes the loot drops to the bottom floor, so be sure to check there if you don’t see anything right away.
If you’re unlucky and don’t get one, head over to the northern part of Swamp Outpost or the southwestern part of The Breach and look for destroyed Arc Courier Husks. You can sometimes find Sentinel Firing Cores here, along with other valuable loot like Wasp Drivers and Fireball Burners.
The Dam Battlegrounds map works great because there aren’t as many Arc enemies compared to other areas, and you spawn close to the good farming spots. Just make your rounds between these locations and you’ll build up your Sentinel Firing Core collection pretty quickly.
