The Fruit Scrappy Won’t Stop Asking For

Prickly pears are one of the rarest natural items in Arc Raiders, and you’ll need six of them to train Scrappy to level three. Unlike lemons and apricots, which you can simply kick from trees, prickly pears only appear on the ground near cactus clusters. They’re not technically “rare,” but their spawn zones are so specific most players run right past them.

They also have terrible timing: the entire playerbase is currently trying to upgrade Scrappy, which means the few pears that do spawn get scooped immediately.

Here’s where to find them.

Where Prickly Pears Spawn

Prickly pears mainly appear on two maps:

Dam Battlegrounds

The most reliable map, widely considered the best farming zone.

Key cactus clusters

  • The dirt road between Pale Apartments → North Complex Elevator (players report “hella” spawns along this path).
  • Along the road between Ruby Residence and West Broken Bridge, near Victory Ridge.
  • Around the Red Lakes Hatch extraction point.
  • North of Generator Hall and the Power Generation Complex.

Dam also has occasional wicker baskets in dome/residential pockets. These can spawn multiple fruits at once, but seem to appear more often during Lush Blooms.

Buried City

Less Consistent, Still Worth Checking

Try these areas

  • South of Plaza Rosa, right near the edge of the map.
  • East of Plaza Rosa, in the southeast corner.
  • East of Piazza Arbusto, tucked among the foliage.

Buried City also has wicker baskets in residential zones, though the drop rate is low.

Lush Blooms Boost Your Odds

If the Lush Blooms event is active, prickly pear chances spike dramatically.

You’ll know it’s active when a small leaf icon appears next to the map name. Clicking the map also shows a Bloom descriptor on the right side of the screen. During Blooms, players report finding pears far more consistently — and basket spawns increase.

Why You’re Not Finding Any

From player reports:

  • Pears have inconsistent spawn rates. You might see four in one run and zero the next.
  • Every player is currently hunting them for Scrappy, so competition is high.
  • You cannot “kick” cactus plants for drops , only ground spawns.
  • Pears despawn fast once someone grabs them.

The game’s still early, so the economy should stabilize later.

Quickest Farming Route (Based on Players)

Dam Battlegrounds → Take the dirt path from Pale Apartments to the North Complex Elevator.
This route currently has the largest cluster of cactus spawns and the highest player-reported yield.
