PEAK has released the Roots update for all players to enjoy, bringing a brand new biome to the game. On top of this, there are also a variety of new items, consumables, and even more badges for players to earn. One of these new badges is the Web Security Badge, which involves a rather…sticky situation. If you’re wondering how to earn the Web Security Badge in PEAK, all relevant information has been included in the guide below.

How to Get the Web Security Badge in PEAK

To earn the Web Security badge in PEAK, players will need to survive the ordeal of escaping from the web of a spider. In PEAK, spiders are a new creature native to the Roots biome, so you will first need to start a new climb and progress past the shore.

If you play up to November 17, 2025, you will be guaranteed the Roots as your second-stage climb. However, after this, the Roots will be alternated at the second stage with the Tropics, just as the Alpine and Mesa are at the third-stage climb.

Because of this, if you want to get any badges that are linked to content in the Roots biome, it’s best to do it now, while the biome is a guaranteed spawn. Otherwise, you may find yourself having to push the badges back by a day each time Roots is out of rotation.

Where to Find Spiders & What They Do in PEAK

In PEAK, Spiders are located in the Roots biome, and can be found nested in high locations such as the tops of trees, branches, or stone structures. They will usually be hiding up there and waiting for you to get in close proximity before dropping down. If you’re seeking a spider, you’ll need to look for any signs of webbing – if you see a web, there’s probably a spider waiting!

If you approach the web, the spider will drop down. If you are standing close enough to where the spider drops, it will grab you and cover you in webbing as it drags you back up towards its hiding spot. Thankfully, you can break out of these webs and free yourself by spamming your spacebar button to struggle.

If you do not struggle or do not struggle enough in time, then the spider will continue holding you up in its webs and will continuously poison you. This means to survive the encounter and earn the Web Security badge, you must not only break out of a spider’s web, but also ensure you do not become too poisoned and die as a result.

After successfully surviving one spider encounter by breaking out of webs, you will earn the Web Security badge. Upon the completion of your climb, you will then be rewarded with a mummy costume and headwear to dress up in.
