Your teammates aren’t your only allies in Arc Raiders. You also have Scrappy the Rooster, your loyal rooster companion who can greatly help you progress through the game. Scrappy collects resources for you while you’re out exploring, good rooster! To return the favor, you can train and level up Scrappy to make him even more helpful. Here’s everything you need to know about leveling up Scrappy in Arc Raiders, including the requirements and where to find the necessary materials.
Why You Should Level Up Scrappy the Rooster

Scrappy works in the background, clucking away and gathering resources while you focus on other stuff. The higher Scrappy’s level, the more helpful your feathered friend becomes. Scrappy can be upgraded four times, from level one to five. Each upgrade requires specific items, but it’s worth the effort.
Now, let’s take a look at every Scrappy upgrade item and how to get them.
Level 2 Requirements
To level up Scrappy to level 2, you need to find a Dog Collar.

Where to find Dog Collars:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Pale Apartments or Ruby Residence
- Buried City: Santa Maria Houses, Plaza Rosa, or Grandioso Apartments
- Blue Gate: Village, Raider’s Refuge, Ruined Homestead, or Abandoned Housing Project
Dog Collars show up in residential areas. If you’re starting out, Dam Battlegrounds is your best bet. Head to the northwest corner where you’ll find plenty of residential spots to search.
Level 3 Requirements
To level up Scrappy to level 3, you need to find 3 Lemons and 3 Apricots.

Where to find Lemons:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Hydroponics Dome Complex (but only at Lush Blooms)
- Buried City: Marano Park or Grandioso Apartments
- The Spaceport: Staff Parking or East Plains
- Blue Gate: Olive Grove, Village, or Ruined Homestead
The Olive Grove in The Blue Gate is the best spot for finding nature items like this.

Where to find Apricots:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Red Lakes (on the east side)
- Buried City: Marano Park
- The Spaceport: East Plains
- Blue Gate: Olive Grove or Village
Same deal as Lemons, the Olive Grove is a solid spot. But if you’re already in Dam Battlegrounds, check the east side at Red Lakes.
Level 4 Requirements
To level up Scrappy to level 4, you need to find 6 Prickly Pears, 6 Olives, and 1 Cat Bed.

Where to find Prickly Pears:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Red Lakes or Victory Ridge
- Buried City: Southeastern edge of the map
- The Spaceport: East of Container Storage

Where to find Olives:
- Blue Gate: Olive Grove, Checkpoint, or Village
Olives only spawn in The Blue Gate. The name kind of gives it away, doesn’t it? Head straight to the Olive Grove.

Where to find Cat Bed:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Ruby Residence or Pale Apartments
- Buried City: Santa Maria Houses, Plaza Rosa, or Grandioso Apartments
- Blue Gate: Village, Raider’s Refuge, Ruined Homestead, or Abandoned Housing Project
Cat Beds spawn in the same residential areas where you found Dog Collars earlier.
Level 5 Requirements
To level up Scrappy to level 5, you need to find 12 Apricots, 12 Mushrooms, and 3 Very Comfortable Pillows.

Where to find Mushrooms:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Formicai Hills, Swamp, or Hydroponic Dome Complex (near the Scrap Yard)
Mushrooms only appear in Dam Battlegrounds. If you need these, make that map your home base for a bit. The area near the Scrap Yard is particularly good.

Where to find Very Comfortable Pillows:
- Dam Battlegrounds: Ruby Residence or Pale Apartments
- Buried City: Santa Maria Houses, Plaza Rosa, or Grandioso Apartments
- Blue Gate: Village, Raider’s Refuge, Ruined Homestead, or Abandoned Housing Project
Very Comfortable Pillows are quite rare for an uncommon item. They’re residential loot, but they don’t spawn as often as Dog Collars or Cat Beds. Your best bet is to check every residential location you come across. If you’re getting bored, rotate between different maps to keep things fresh. Check every residential building you see, and eventually you’ll get lucky.
Leveling up Scrappy takes some time and effort, but having a companion that passively collects resources is a huge help in Arc Raiders. Start with the easier levels and work your way up. Those Very Comfortable Pillows for level five might test your patience, but once you max out Scrappy, you’ll have way more freedom to focus on the fun parts of the game.
