Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Side Missions provide plenty of objectives for Trainers to complete during their playthrough. Doing so is quite useful, as Side Missions will not only reward you with valuable items and money. They will also enable you to discover new areas through exploration, or even obtain certain species of Pokemon.

How to Complete Side Mission 013 – Stumped at the Fountain In Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Side Mission 013 – Stumped at the Fountain is an objective from an NPC named Croquis. Croquis can be located in the Jaune District, standing by the fountain at Jaune Sector 7. This exact location has been marked on the map screenshot below.

Speak to Croquis, and she will explain that she is trying to gain artistic inspiration from the view of the fountain, but this view has been mysteriously blocked by bunches of thorns/brambles. She will then ask you to find a way to clear these brambles for her.
Use a Fire Type Move to Clear the Brambles
To get rid of brambles/thorn bunches in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you will need to have a Pokemon use a Fire Type move. There are plenty of easily-obtainable Pokemon that are capable of this if you did not choose Tepig as your starter, such as Fletchinder, Litleo, Houndour, and Pansear.
Have one of these Pokemon use a Fire Type move on each bunch of brambles/thorns, Ember, Fire Spin, or Flame Wheel are just a few of the possible choices that are obtainable/learnable pretty early on.
After clearing the brambles, talk to Croquis again. Much to both of your surprise, three more bramble bunches will have mysteriously appeared while you looked away.
Once again, you must use Fire-type moves to clear these brambles, and then speak to Croquis once more. Yet again, even more brambles will have appeared while you were speaking to her, and you will need to use Fire Type moves to clear them.
After destroying them all, speak to Croquis one last time. Finally, the culprit will be revealed as a mischievous little Phantump who was putting up the brambles as a prank. Unfortunately, you are not able to capture this Phatnump, as Croquis finds artistic inspiration from the spooky little guy.
However, Side Mission 013 – Stumped at the Fountain will now conclude, and you will be able to gain your rewards from Croquis. Easy as that!
