Pokemon Legends: Z-A has a variety of different Side Missions that can be unlocked and completed by players to uncover new areas of the game, earn rewards, and even new Pokemon for their collection!

Among all of the various Side Missions you’ll find across Lumiose City, Side Mission 008 – Get Well, Fennekin is one that many players will want to complete as soon as possible, as it rewards you with the Fire Type Kalos starter Pokemon, Fennekin. Thankfully, this Side Mission is available in the early game. How to Complete Side Mission 008 – Get Well, Fennekin in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

To begin the Get Well, Fennekin Side Mission in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you will need to locate the NPC known as Branche, who has discovered a sick Fennekin. Branche can be found in the Magenta District, on the section of grass at Magenta Sector 2. The exact location has been included in the map screenshot below.

Speak to Branche, and she will tell you that she has discovered an unwell Fennekin. She will then ask you to help by locating the herbalist and speaking to him for guidance on how to help the poor Fennekin.

Where to Find the Herbalist

The herbalish can be found at Cafe Classe on Vernal Avenue, near the Pokemon Center. Speak to the herbalist, and he will tell you that you can cure Fennekin’s sickness with a Revitalizing Twig.

Where to Find the Revitalizing Twig

The Revitalizing Twig can be found in Wild Zone 5. However, you will need to go through a little bit of exploration to get to it! First, enter Wild Zone 5 and make your way over to the big piles of poisonous sludge.

You can clear them by using Water Type moves, so go ahead and do so to open up the path.

Alternatively, if you do not have access to a Water Type move for any reason, you can also climb up the nearby ladder on the building wall, run across the rooftop, and then jump down to reach the opposite side of the poisonous sludge.

Now, walk through the pathway until you reach the ladder. Climb down onto the section underneath, where you will notice a drain tunnel. Now, there will be more piles of poisonous gunk that you will need to remove with a Water Type move.

Once you have cleared this path, you will be able to progress through. However, there will be an Alpha Whirlipede waiting for you on the other side, so you’ll need to be ready for battle, as it’s a very aggressive boss.

Whirlipede is a Bug/Poison Dual-Type Pokemon, so it’s best if you bring some Pokemon of the Fire, Flying, Rock, and Psychic Types, as these are Whirlipede’s weaknesses. Specifically, Fletchinder is a great choice, as it has a Fire/Flying Dual Typing and can be evolved from Rookidee very early on.

After you defeat Alpha Whirlipede, progress forward into the open area of grass. Here, you will notice several red sparkles (items that can be picked up) in different places. These are all twigs, so you can get to checking for the Revitalizing Twig. First, pick up all of the ones in the bottom area.

Unfortunately, all of those will have issues with them. Now, you’ll need to run over to the ladder and head up onto the upper section of grass. Here you will find one last twig, and yes, it will finally be the Revitalizing twig.

What to Do With the Revitalizing Twig

Now that you have the Revitalizing twig, you can return to Branche and the sick Fennekin in the Magenta District. Speak to Branche, and you two will give the Revitalizing Twig to Fennekin.

The unwell Fennekin will now immediately start to feel better and become much more lively. Branche will notice that Fennekin seems to have taken a liking to you, and will suggest that Fennekin stay by your side permanently. In other words, you now gain this Fennekin as a permanent Pokemon to use for the rest of your playthrough!
