How Ranching Works in Palia
To unlock your Ranch, you will first need to complete the Like a Bird Quest. Upon completion, you will then unlock the recipe for the Barn Bell from Delaila. The Barn Bell is the item used to transport you to your Ranch, so as soon as you get your hands on it, you’ll be all set.
Starting at level one, you will be given your very first Peki. You’ll be able to name your first animal and all that comes after, so if this is something you’d enjoy, you’d best come prepared with a long list!
Managing Animal Needs
Your animals have three stat bars that need your attention. Happiness, Focus, and Item Production. The best way to fill these bars is to keep your animal well-fed and pet them regularly (every seventeen hours, or at least every day should do for petting).
However, these stat bars also take multiple days to fully deplete, so it should still be fine if you do not manage to feed your animals every day.
Animal Breeding System
Once you have at least two animals of the same species, you can move into breeding – an integral part of Ranching. The Breeding Station is located on the west side of your Ranch in a pen where all your baby animals can be found.
There are currently five different animals species that can live at your Ranch, each of which have been listed below:
- Peki
- Trufflet
- Ormuu
- Bumbles
- Goobis
At the Breeding Station you can choose any two animals of your choosing (so long as they are the same species) and breed them to create offspring. In doing so, you’ll even be able to discover new and unique traits for your animals. There are hundreds to discover, so you can really go to town with this mechanic, if you’d like!
How to Level Up Your Ranch Fast in Palia
To maximize profit and XP towards your Ranching skill, you will want to focus on breeding in the cosmetic traits you want and donating the rest. Donating can be hard on the heart and soul, but it is a necessary part, as your ranch can only hold so many animals.
If that isn’t enough to convince you, though, you will also be rewarded for your donation with bags of treats ranging in rarity based on the donation value of your pet. These are vital for progressing forward with unique traits for your animals, so donate!
Additional Palia Ranching Tips & Tricks
- Make Veggie Fried Rice to feed your animals. It uses minimal materials and fills the focus bars of all your animals, as long as they are starred.
- Age-up the breeds you like as quickly as possible using Fast-Growing Cookie or Faster-Growing Cookies. You will receive the majority of your ranching XP from gathering the resources your animals produce.
- Players can visit eachothers Ranches to to interact with their animals and assist with Ranching activities. If you have a good group of friends, keeping each other’s Ranches afloat can be quite handy.
