How to Change Clothing in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, players can change the outfits/items of clothing that their Trainer wears at any given time. To do so, open the menu by pressing X, and then press the – button to open the outfit customization menu.
In this menu, you will be able to pick and choose between all of the items you own in each category to design your Trainer’s custom outfit. Additionally, you can also press ZR to switch to customizing your Trainer’s physical looks, such as eye color, lashes, eye shape, and freckles – among other things.
How to Unlock More Outfits in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
To unlock more clothing for your Trainer to choose from in this menu, you will simply need to use your money and do some shopping! Lumiose City is full of many shops, with each District in the city usually having at least a small cluster of stores that you can visit.
Every clothing store in Lumiose City offers a different catalogue of items at varying prices. Thankfully, you can roam around and window shop to see the different styles/aesthetics on display. When you find one you like, press A at the store to open the full list of items and try them on to preview how they suit your Trainer.
For any item that you would like to purchase that you can afford, simply continue pressing A to confirm your selection. You will now get the choice to equip it to your Trainer immediately, or store it in your clothing options for later.
You can also visit Hair Salons to further customize your Trainer’s appearance. Here, you can choose from hairstyles that are not available in the normal appearance customization menu, pick from additional hair colors, and even add highlights or gradient dyes in a color of your choice.

There are many different clothing stores in Lumiose City. Some sell large selections of clothing, while others sell a more refined selection, or specialize in headwear, footwear, and/or accessories. Some shops are in smaller sections of 2-4, while larger areas or shopping centers offer huge clusters of 6-8 stores at a time.
