The Bomb Drops (Again)
Bethesda’s annual Fallout Day is officially set for October 23, the same date the nukes fell in the series’ lore.
This year, they’re teasing “news about existing Fallout games, community celebrations, and upcoming fan events.” Which means, no Fallout 3 Remastered, nor spin-offs or animes. That said, it does give credance to the rumour about a Fallout 4 paid mod update. Here’s everything that’s on the table for the event:
Fallout 76? Bethesda’s Favourite

If past years are any indication, Fallout 76 will once again be the golden child. Expect new expansions, limited-time events, and maybe another layer of quality-of-life updates that inch it closer to the Fallout people thought they were getting in 2018. Bethesda has spent the last few years quietly turning it into a serviceable online world, complete with player raids, ghoul transformations, and C.A.M.P. pets. Odds are good that the biggest “new” thing on October 23 is another update to keep the server lights on.
The Fallout 3 Remaster? Still A Rumor That Won’t Die

Fallout 3 Remastered is everyone’s biggest dream right now. It’s somehow both a distant dream and an immediate one. It was leaked in 2023 with no news since, yet Oblivion: Remastered was a suprise drop so why not Fallout 3?
From the official Fallout tweet, it’s unlikely. Reputed leaker NateTheHate has also said no dice, but not that it’s impossible.
Fallout 4 Paid Mods Update

The most likely surprise seems to be another Fallout 4 update. Fallout 4 numbers jumped up after the show released, and the same will happen when season 2 releases this December.
Rumours have been circulating about a paid mod update to Fallout 4 that would allow Bethesda to make some money off the returning players. If it is announced at Fallout Day, it could drop on November 10, Fallout 4’s tenth anniversary. More info here:
Fallout on TV, Fallout Everywhere

Amazon’s Fallout series has reinvigorated the franchise, and will likely get another teaser before its release. What’s more exciting is the potential for Bethesda to be pushing the envelope further with anything from an animated series, to comics, to another mobile game. Fallout Shelter was a cash cow in its day, so it’s not unlikely we’ll see something completely new and unexpected turn up. The only question is if it’ll be on Fallout Day.
The Smart Money’s on Small Stuff
Despite literally being called Fallout Day, it tends to be a fairly minor Fallout event. The big stuff is announced at the Microsoft events. But if you want to enjoy a nice strong shot of copium, it’s not impossible that the success of the Fallout tv show has inspired Bethesda and Microsoft to double down on Bomb’s Drop Day.
