Both methods could also provide valid opportunities for players to acquire a Combee, should it ever be put into rotation again.
In particular, Combee sometimes features as a wild spawn or research encounter during one-off or recurring in-game events. These provide the best opportunity to acquire Combee, with the latest of these opportunities being the 2025 Harvest Festival event taking place in early October.
Pokemon GO: How to Evolve Combee into Vespiquen
The process for evolving Combee once you have one is actually rather straightforward. What tends to stump people, though, is that Combee’s evolution is gender-locked. In order for Combee to evolve into Vespiquen, your Combee must be female. This does make sense, after all, with Vespiquen being inspired by a queen bee, and such.
Once you have a female Combee that you would like to evolve, you will also need an additional 50 Combee Candy. These Candies can be earned by capturing Combee and transferring extra copies to the Professor, if needed. If all requirements have been met, you can navigate to Combee’s Pokemon profile and hit the evolve button. The evolution process should now trigger, and you will be granted a new Vespiquen!
Can Combee & Vespiquen Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Yes, shiny forms for both Combee and Vespiquen are available in Pokemon GO. This means that if a Trainer is lucky enough to meet the rare odds when encountering one of these monsters, they will have the opportunity to capture a shiny variant of the critter. If you manage to encounter and capture a shiny Combee, you can also use the evolution method to turn it into a shiny Vespiquen, as long as it is female.
