If you’ve been anywhere near X, Reddit, or literally any Twitch clip this week, you already know the saga. Hasan Piker was streaming on October 7 and told his dog Kaya, a husky mix, to “just go back, just stop.” Kaya yelped. That’s it. That moment alone somehow blew up into a full-on moral panic where people are now accusing Hasan of using a shock collar to keep her still. The internet is wild.

Hasan Denies It All

Of course Hasan denied it. He pulled out Kaya’s collar on stream the next day, said it was vibration-only, even had an AirTag and flashlight or something, and explained the yelp as Kaya “clipping herself” on the bed frame. He went on about how spoiled and well-trained she is and how she naps through his streams. And yeah, PETA said the same thing most of us are thinking, which is basically: we hope no shocks were used, because that would be cruel.

xQc’s Take: “98-99 Percent Chance He Did It”

But then xQc showed up. Oh boy. xQc did not just react, he went full detective mode. He paused, zoomed, analyzed frame by frame like this was a Netflix true crime documentary about a Twitch dog. He said there was a 98 to 99 percent chance Hasan actually used a shock collar, called Hasan’s denial gaslighting, and just kept piling on. He even mocked Hasan’s explanation, “It beeps? Really?”

xQc zoomed in on the collar, pointed out blinking lights on different sides, theorized Hasan swapped or tampered with it, and tied it to old clips where Hasan’s trainer talked about e-collars. Then he did this ridiculous thing where he said he’d donate 50,000 dollars to an LA animal shelter if Hasan proved it wasn’t a shock collar. Hasan showed the collar, xQc said nah still fake, and then still donated anyway. Classic xQc.

What really hits me though is how much energy people put into analyzing a dog yelp. Like, Kaya seems fine, Hasan says she’s fine, and yet thousands of people are losing their minds. And xQc is right in the sense that Hasan’s reactions to Kaya moving are weirdly calm. I get it, dogs yelp, but the way Kaya just freezes for hours in some clips? That is strange behavior for a husky mix. And maybe that’s why people are suspicious.

The bigger picture here is Twitch culture. We watch, we judge, we analyze, we meme, we throw donations at streams, and everything is content. A single yelp turns into hours of debate, accusations, memes, and somehow $50,000 in charity.
