How to Redeem Shift Codes
Redeeming Shift codes is simple—just make sure your SHiFT account is linked to your preferred platform.
In Game
- From the main menu, open the Social tab and select the SHiFT section.
- Enter your 25-character code exactly as it appears.
- Hit “Redeem” and check your in-game mailbox for the reward.
Via the Web
- Go to shift.gearboxsoftware.com/rewards.
- Log in to your SHiFT account (or create one) and link your platform account.
- Paste the code in the redemption box.
- Launch the game and collect your rewards from the mailbox.
Codes expire quickly, so it’s best to redeem them as soon as they drop. Gearbox often releases new ones through Twitter, community events, or in celebration of updates and DLC.
Where to Use Your Golden Keys
Golden Keys unlock the Golden Chest, a special loot cache that scales its contents to your current level. Each chest guarantees a drop of high-rarity gear—legendary weapons, powerful shields, or rare mods.
In Borderlands 4, Golden Chests can be found in key hub zones:
- Belton’s Bore – near the main fast travel terminal.
- The Launchpad – tucked beside the mission board.
- Carcadia – inside the main safehouse, behind the vending stations.
- The Lockaway – accessible after the second campaign act, in the central plaza.
Each time you open a Golden Chest, one Golden Key is consumed. It’s usually smarter to save your keys until you’ve leveled up or reached a new difficulty tier so the loot scales appropriately.
