A Photo, a Comment, and Not Much Else
On August 14, ex–Fear Factory bassist-turned-guitarist Christian Olde Wolbers posted a picture of himself with Korn’s on-hiatus bassist Fieldy and Sepultura drummer Greyson Nekrutman. In the comments, Wolbers tagged Cypress Hill’s B-Real and added: “we got 2 in the can.” That’s the whole story — three musicians in a studio and, apparently, two songs finished.

The Rap-Metal Déjà Vu

Wolbers has long-running ties to the Cypress Hill camp. He toured with them, formed Powerflo with Sen Dog, and once tried to launch a rap-rock band called Kush with B-Real, Fear Factory’s Raymond Herrera, and Deftones’ Stephen Carpenter. That project collapsed before anyone outside the industry really noticed. This new venture looks like it could be circling similar territory.
Fieldy Resurfaces (After Walking Away From Korn)

Fieldy hasn’t played with Korn since 2021, when he announced an indefinite hiatus to deal with what he called “bad habits.” He later clarified those habits weren’t drug-related — more a case of too many beers and too much burnout — and said he hasn’t actually spoken to his bandmates since 2019. Korn kept moving with a fill-in bassist, and Fieldy stayed home, content to do his own thing. This studio hang with Christian Olde Wolbers and Greyson Nekrutman is the first time he’s popped up in a new project, though whether it’s a comeback or just a side quest is anyone’s guess.
What Does It All Mean?
Probably nothing yet. There’s no announcement, no name, and no release plan. Just three guys making music, and a tag suggesting B-Real might pop up. Could it be good? Sure. Could it vanish without a trace, like a dozen other metal “supergroups”? Also sure.
