Harry Vanderspeigle’s mission is almost complete.
Resident Alien, the offbeat sci-fi dramedy starring Alan Tudyk, will wrap up with its current fourth season on USA Network. The news was confirmed by creator and showrunner Chris Sheridan, who says he always suspected this would be the final chapter. “I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,” Sheridan told TV Insider. “Creatively, that was exciting… the finale is probably my favorite episode of the series.”

Based on the Dark Horse comic by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien debuted in 2021 on Syfy before migrating to USA for its final season. The series stars Tudyk as Harry, an alien who crash-lands in Colorado and assumes the identity of a small-town doctor. What begins as a mission to wipe out humanity slowly morphs into a surprisingly heartfelt exploration of identity, connection, and very awkward social cues.
Despite never becoming a ratings juggernaut, the show has built a steady, devoted fanbase and consistently strong critical reception—Resident Alien holds a 94% average on Rotten Tomatoes and sits at 8.1 on IMDb. It’s also been a rare cable success story in an increasingly streaming-focused era, especially after moving to USA Network, which has been reshuffling its programming slate since absorbing much of NBCSN’s sports content. (No, USA Network is not in financial trouble—quite the opposite. It’s being strategically repositioned under NBCUniversal.)

Much of the show’s strength lies in Tudyk’s performance and a cast that’s quietly become one of TV’s most charming ensembles, including Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, and Levi Fiehler. Sheridan says the final episodes will give fans closure while still “leaving the door cracked open for any future this world may have.”
Three episodes remain, airing Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA and Syfy, with next-day streaming on Peacock. One last invasion before goodbye.
