Get ready for Captain Klyntar & Friends.
With the release of Marvel Rivals Season 3, those inky depths of aline goop have been dived right into. What once was speculation about leaked voice lines, rumours about characters like Captain America, Storm, Rocket Raccoon, and Moon Knight getting a new symbiote style has been proven gloriously true (though the Moon Knight skin turned out to be a Phoenix one).
One of the most fun parts of the new season has been seeing new symbiote versions of existing characters. For example, this is the first appearence of a venomized Squirrel Girl.
And if you’ve loved these new designs (the Groot one is even cooler than in the comics), you might like to make a little merch to show it off. Custom pins are a great way to do this, you just hop into a designer, add some colour and flair, then have them printed and shipped out to you.
It’s the perfect way to rep your main with your friends, and it’s total bragging rights when you go to conventions wearing one. Plus, if you’re a cosplayer there’s surely clever ways to add them to your costume (like a pin of Tippytoe for your Squirrel Girl cosplay).
Who First Leaked It?
The leaks surfaced by dataminers at X0XLeak revealed voice lines of Captain America referring to himself as “Captain Klyntar,” which we now have our hands on. Plus, they found out the Klyntar maps we’ve gotten since then: The Core and Celestial Remains.
Similarly, the Rocket Raccoon quip “bite them, not me,” and lines of Storm revelling in newfound “raw power,” tipped us off to their Venomized skins. Funnily enough, a Moon Knight line to Khonshu about getting used to this “new form” wasn’t about Knull but Phoenix instead.
At the time, no official visuals had been released, but the thematic direction was clear: Knull, the Symbiote god, would be season 3’s antagonist.
Of course, these leaks might’ve been red herrings– it wouldn’t have been the first time.
Season 3 was released on July 11, 2025, marking a shift to a two-month seasonal cycle, with new heroes introduced monthly. The first of these heroes was speculated to be Jean Grey and her Phoenix Force, followed by potentially Rogue, Gambit, or Captain Marvel due to VO leaks (we now know it’s was Blade all along).
As we awaited more details we guessed at a couple other heroes who could’ve gotten skins: Jeff, Hulk, Groot, and Black Widow. And we were right about half of them!
At that time, everything was on the table, even Venom could’ve get a new variant (but he got hit by the Phoenix Force instead).
