Marvel Rivals‘ second season is charging full steam ahead, and like any good live-service title, the dataminers are always one step behind the devs, digging through fresh patch files for buried treasure. The latest leak? Five potential new characters coming soon to Marvel’s answer to Overwatch, and a confirmed arrival of Ultron in what’s being dubbed Season 2.5.
The source of this scoop comes from two of the more reliable whisperers in the Rivals rumor mill: @X0X_LEAK, who dropped a list of unfinished in-game files earlier today, later confirming the names and presumed roles of the new additions. So, who’s making the cut? Enter: Amaranth, White Fox, Armor, Hive, and Forge.
And yes, Ultron is very much in the mix—he’s reportedly arriving as a Strategist-type in the midseason update. Which tracks, because let’s be honest: if anyone in the Marvel universe is going to play five steps ahead of the rest of the cast, it’s a genocidal robot with Wi-Fi access to every nuke on Earth.
The five new names offer a mix of familiar faces and deep cuts. Let’s break them down:
Amaranth (Duelist)

A fresh face in the Marvel Universe, Amaranth made her debut in Scarlet Witch #6 as a former protégé of Agatha Harkness. Expect mystical offense, magical defenses, and a whole lot of chaos.
Leaked Abilities:
• Chaos Spike
• Spell Counter
• Chaos Rain
• Frenzied Deterrence
White Fox (Strategist)

Ami Han, aka White Fox, is South Korea’s resident super-spy with Kumiho heritage. She blends mysticism, speed, and strategic finesse—and her move list leans into that cunning hard.
Leaked Abilities:
• Life Drain
• Life Transfer
• Rapid Hypnosis
• Fox Shadow Evasion
Armor (Vanguard)

Hisako Ichiki, known as Armor, creates a towering psionic shell that’s built to absorb punishment and hit back even harder. Expect durability with anime-level escalation.
Leaked Abilities:
• Unbreakable Object
• Psionic Armor – First Form
• Psionic Armor – Second Form
• Psionic Armor – Third Form
• Mountain-Breaking Strike
Hive (Vanguard)

Born from HYDRA science and parasitic horror, Hive operates as a walking virus. Think status effects, crowd control, and general body horror wrapped in a tank frame.
Leaked Abilities:
• Deadly Parasite
• Painful Lashing
• Accelerated Transformation
Interestingly, a Hive-like super soldier can be found ingame already, and devs were quick to dispel the rumour it was Hive:

Forge (Strategist)

Mutant engineer, genius inventor, and the guy you call when you need a turret, a gadget, or a tech miracle—Forge is all about mechanical mastery on the fly.
Leaked Abilities:
• Structural Analysis
• Creative Modification
• Spirit Realm Walking
• Limitation-Breaking Modification
Each character comes with a full ability list (though, fair warning, these names are early builds and could shift before release). But for now, it gives us a good sense of what these characters might play like—ranged chaos, tanky brawlers, tactical masterminds, and a dash of psychic power.
While Armor’s tanky skill set sounds like it’ll hit hard, fans are already clamoring for the likes of Daredevil or Elektra to get their spotlight. Priorities, Marvel.
So, who’s on your Marvel Rivals wishlist? Do Amaranth’s chaotic abilities make her your next main? Is White Fox about to outwit everyone on the field? Or are you just here to cause problems on purpose as Ultron? We see you.
