Third Man Records has added another high-voltage act to its already legendary roster, welcoming Austin’s own riot-inciting rock quartet, Die Spitz. The signing comes hot on the heels of the band’s unhinged performance at Third Man & CREEM’s unofficial SXSW bash earlier this month, a set that left eardrums ringing and amps begging for mercy.
“We are so grateful to Third Man for this opportunity. We’re having a grand ole time recording and can’t wait for y’all to hear!” the band shared, presumably while tearing through another raw, blistering track in the studio.
To celebrate, Die Spitz is hitting the road hard with an extensive tour spanning North America, the UK, and Europe. The mayhem kicks off May 28 in Fayetteville, AR, and includes pit-stirring stops at Detroit’s Third Man Records Cass Corridor (June 1), NYC’s The Governors Ball (June 7), Bonnaroo (June 12), Atlanta’s Shaky Knees (September 20), and a raucous hometown show at Austin’s Stubb’s (October 24).

Formed in 2022, Die Spitz—Ava Schrobilgen, Chloe De St. Aubin, Ellie Livingston, and Kate Halter—have quickly gone from local Austin upstarts to full-blown rock wrecking crew. Known for their ferocious stage presence and unapologetically loud, thrash-heavy sound, they’ve already shared stages with punk royalty like Amyl and the Sniffers, Sleater-Kinney, and OFF!. Austin Monthly summed it up best: “Youthful moxie has never sounded so good.”
With a handful of fiery singles (including 2024’s “i hate when GIRLS die,” “My Hot Piss,” and “Little Flame”) and last year’s Teeth EP under their belt, Die Spitz is now hard at work on their eagerly anticipated debut LP for Third Man, due later this year. Expect it to be loud. Expect it to be wild. Expect it to leave a mark.
