Update/Warning: CliCli has been disowned by the Game Dev community for scummy practices. Its T&Cs also states that NetEase claims all user created content as its own.
Game editor CliCli is re-launching. From February 14 to March 14, 2025, the platform is launching its technical testing phase, offering a hands-on look at its latest features while gathering user feedback to shape the final product.
You can dive in right now by downloading CliCli for free from its official website: cliclieditor.com.
What Exactly Is CliCli?
Think of CliCli as the lovechild of old-school RTS map editors and modern game engines. This innovative platform is making waves with its accessible yet powerful toolkit—offering an arsenal of design modules, thousands of free assets, and a visual scripting system that lets you create complex game logic without ever touching a line of code. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or someone who’s never built a game before, CliCli aims to be your gateway to game creation. And if you hit a roadblock? Responsive technical support has your back.
What’s New in This Update?
During its technical test, CliCli is doubling down on optimizations, functionality, and performance improvements. Some highlights include:
- 1,000+ optimized ECA triggers for smoother in-game logic.
- Expanded file format support and enhanced visuals, including better textures, lighting, and particle effects.
- Massive performance upgrades thanks to a Python-to-C++ engine migration, improving load times and efficiency.
- A revamped ECA-Profiler tool for pinpointing performance bottlenecks.
- Asynchronous error logging to make debugging a breeze.
Just a heads-up: If you’ve dabbled with CliCli’s earlier alpha builds, your old projects may not be compatible with this version. For now, all newly created games will only be playable locally.
