The trailer for “Speak No Evil,” starring James McAvoy, promises a chilling psychological thriller. In it, an American family finds a dream weekend at a British country estate turn into a nightmare with a menancing James McAvoy at the center of it.
Though Blumhouse is known for pumping out pretty standard horror fare, the inclusion of big names like James McAvoy (Split), Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049), and Scoot McNairy (Killing Them Softly) may elevate the film beyond the usual Blumhouse experience.
McAvoy is no stranger to villians and horror, with his character in Split and Glass being among the best performances of his career? Will this be another return to form, or just a sojourn between big roles of rthe actor? The trailer gives little insight either way, but it’s enough to have fans excited.
Also, this English-language remake of the 2022 Danish horror film “Gæsterne”, which in turn is inspired by films such as Straw Dogs, Funny Games, and the like.
Speak No Evil is set to hit theaters on September 13.
