Tablescope, an Austria-based game developer, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for their latest creation, Light Speed: Arena. This tabletop game brings a unique twist to traditional gaming by incorporating a photo-assisted gameplay mechanic.

In Light Speed: Arena, players assume the role of pilots commanding fleets of spaceships in intense space battles. The game utilizes physical tiles and a companion app, allowing players to snap a picture to determine the outcome of their strategic moves.

One of the highlights of Light Speed: Arena is its diverse factions, each with their own special abilities and laser targeting systems. This adds depth and variety to the gameplay experience, as players must adapt their strategies to outmaneuver opponents.

The Kickstarter campaign offers backers various pledge levels, starting at €25, which grants access to the base game and the Snap&Score companion app. Higher pledge tiers include additional factions and the option to expand gameplay for larger groups of up to 6 players.

For those who prefer a more traditional approach, the campaign also features an “Analog Downgrade” add-on, providing rules and tokens for app-free play.

Light Speed: Arena promises an exhilarating tabletop gaming experience, blending strategy and innovation. The Kickstarter campaign is now live, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to support and be part of this cosmic adventure.
